Ashok RainaDharamshala, July 7 -- In view of the ongoing monsoon and the heightened risk of flash floods and landslides, Hemraj Bairwa, Deputy Commissioner of Kangra and Chairman of the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), has prohibited public entry and risky activities near rivers, rivulets, streams, waterfalls, dams, reservoirs and other water bodies across the district with immediate effect.

The orders have been issued under the provisions of the Disaster Management Act, 2005, to safeguard residents and tourists during the monsoon season.

The Deputy Commissioner said heavy rainfall could cause a sudden rise in water levels, triggering flash floods, strong currents and landslides.
