Thiruvananthapuram, May 31 -- The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has indicated that conditions are favourable for the Southwest Monsoon to advance further into more parts of Kerala, Lakshadweep and adjoining areas of the Arabian Sea over the next three to four days, even as heavy rainfall is forecast across several districts of the state in the coming week.
The weather department has forecast heavy rainfall of 7 cm to 11 cm at isolated places across Kerala from May 31 to June 2, with rainfall intensity likely to increase thereafter.
Heavy to very heavy rainfall, ranging between 12 cm and 20 cm in a 24-hour period, is expected at isolated locations from June 3 to June 6.
