Bengaluru, July 9 -- Karnataka's southwest monsoon turned increasingly menacing on Thursday, with three major rain-related incidents reported within hours across Belagavi, Hassan and Dakshina Kannada districts, highlighting the growing threat posed by incessant rainfall even as major disasters were narrowly averted.
The most serious incident occurred at Amboli Ghat on the Belagavi-Vengurla State Highway, where heavy rainfall in the Western Ghats of neighbouring Maharashtra triggered a landslide, sending massive boulders crashing onto the road and bringing traffic to a halt.
