Bengaluru, Aug. 4 -- Sustained monsoon rains have sharply improved Karnataka's water security, with the state's 14 major reservoirs reaching 61 per cent of their total storage capacity and receiving more than four lakh cusecs of inflow in a single day, according to the Karnataka State Natural Disaster Management Centre (KSNDMC).
The latest reservoir bulletin showed that the dams together now hold 546.11 TMC of water, while daily inflows touched 4,03,022 cusecs. Authorities are releasing 1,82,132 cusecs into rivers and canals to regulate rising water levels as several reservoirs approach capacity.
