New Delhi, June 29 -- Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei has thanked Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his Eid al-Adha greetings and expressed confidence that the longstanding friendship between the two countries will continue to deepen, according to Iranian sources.
In a message to PM Modi, Khamenei said he appreciated the Indian leader's congratulations on the Islamic festival and extended his own greetings in return.
"I am confident that the historic friendship between our two countries, founded on mutual respect and shared interests, will continue to be further strengthened and expanded through the efforts of our two governments," Khamenei said.
