Islampur (West Bengal), April 15 -- West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of "misleading" the public and "misusing" government machinery in the run-up to the Assembly elections.
Addressing a campaign rally at Islampur Court Maidan in Uttar Dinajpur district, Banerjee said she respected the office of the Prime Minister but questioned the credibility of statements made from that position. "I respect the chair of the Prime Minister. But the chair cannot speak lies," she remarked.
