Mumbai, May 26 -- Congress State President Harshvardhan Sapkal said on Monday that before coming to power, the BJP had grandly promised petrol and diesel at 35 per litre. However, despite being in power for the past 12 years, petrol, diesel, and LPG cylinder prices have skyrocketed. In just the last 11 days, petrol and diesel prices have been increased by rupees 8 per litre.

"This hike, carried out in the name of the Iran war, is like rubbing salt into the wounds of citizens already battered by inflation. This price rise is nothing less than a robbery of the common people's pockets, and the government must immediately roll it back. If Narendra Modi cannot control inflation, then he should step down," Sapkal demanded in a statement.
