Raymond KharmujaiShillong, June 4 -- union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday said the Narendra Modi government has freed the North East from the scourge of insurgency.
Addressing the 73rd plenary session of the North Eastern Council (NEC), of which he is chairman, Shah said that Modi has worked with complete commitment and sensitivity for this vast region through a whole-of-government approach.
"Apart from Narendra Modi, there has perhaps been no Prime Minister who has worked with such sustained focus and commitment towards the development of the North East," he further said.
