Mumbai, March 27 -- Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) leader Amit Thackeray has written a letter to the railway administration protesting against the alleged exclusion of the Marathi language from the Central Railway recruitment process.

In his letter, Thackeray strongly objected to what he described as a deliberate attempt to sideline Marathi, raising concerns over the lack of its inclusion in departmental promotion criteria.

He questioned why there appears to be an "allergy" towards Marathi in the system and asked whose interests are being served by preventing the progress of Marathi-speaking people.

Thackeray has demanded that the notification be revised to include Marathi with due respect.
