Nagpur, June 5 -- Ahead of the Maharashtra Legislative Council (MLC) elections, the Congress on Friday expelled its candidates, Shailesh Agrawal from the Chandrapur-Wardha-Gadchiroli Local Authorities constituency and Sahebrao Kamble from Yavatmal, for withdrawing their nominations.
The development came after both leaders allegedly ignored directives from the party's senior leadership and pulled out of the electoral contest, paving the way for the unopposed election of Mahayuti candidates.
Taking serious note of the move, the Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee expelled both Agrawal and Kamble and cancelled their primary membership after they withdrew their nominations without informing the party leadership, said Congress State Preside...
