Aizawl, March 27 -- Mizoram Governor Vijay Kumar Singh on Friday said the state holds significant strategic importance for India despite its small size, pointing to its location at the tri-junction of India, Myanmar and Bangladesh.

The Governor was speaking during a meeting with a team of eight journalists from Punjab and Himachal Pradesh, who are in the state as part of a PIB Press Tour organised by the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting. The interaction was held at Lok Bhavan in Aizawl.

He said Mizoram's geographical position makes it a key component of India's Act East Policy and noted that the state maintains cordial relations with neighbouring countries, contributing to a largely peaceful border situation with few major incidents...
