Aizawl, May 19 -- The Mizoram Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) on Tuesday appealed to the public not to panic over the proposed one-day nationwide shutdown of pharmacies scheduled for May 20, assuring that medicines for emergencies and essential treatment would remain accessible through government and private hospital pharmacies.
The appeal came after the Mizoram Chemists and Druggists Association (MCDA) announced its decision to join the nationwide strike called by the All India Organisation of Chemists & Druggists (AIOCD).
According to officials, the AIOCD has called the shutdown in protest against online pharmacies and to oppose the approval and expansion of e-pharmacy operations in the country.
