Aizawl, Aug. 27 -- Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma today told the State Legislative Assembly that his government will shortly begin a large-scale deportation of illegal migrants,citing security concerns over the potential for extremist organisations from a particular faith to establish training camps inside the state.
The chief minister made the announcement whilst participating in a debate on the Mizoram Prohibition of Beggary Bill, 2025, introduced by social welfare minister Lalrinpuii.
He explained that the decision followed consultations with the Prime Minister, the union home minister, the national security adviser, the director of the Intelligence Bureau, the union home secretary and the state governor.
