Aizawl, June 20 -- In a strong push for durable and strategic infrastructure in India's remote Northeast, Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma on Thursday made a compelling case for reimagining national highways in the region-not just as roads, but as lifelines for development and national security.

Speaking at the 233rd Mid Term Council Meeting of the Indian Road Congress (IRC), held at the Mizoram University Auditorium here, the Chief Minister urged the Centre to prioritise border states like Mizoram in road planning.
