Aizawl, April 6 -- With the Aizawl Municipal Corporation (AMC) elections approaching, Mizoram's ruling Zoram People's Movement (ZPM) on Monday rolled out an ambitious urban reform agenda aimed at easing construction procedures and transforming the state capital into a vibrant tourism hub.
Polling for the 19-member civic body is scheduled for April 21.
Addressing a party function in Aizawl, Tourism Minister Lalnghinglova Hmar outlined key proposals that the ZPM intends to implement if it secures control of the AMC.
Central to the plan is a comprehensive overhaul of existing building regulations, which the party says have long delayed house construction and frustrated residents.
