Aizawl, July 8 -- Veteran Mizoram politician Nirupam Chakma was sworn in as the new Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the 11th Chakma Autonomous District Council (CADC) on Wednesday, formally assuming office after the formation of a new coalition government that ended the prolonged spell of Governor's Rule in the council.
The swearing-in ceremony took place at the CADC Art & Cultural Hall in Kamalanagar-II (Chawngte), where Lawngtlai Deputy Commissioner Donny Lalruatsanga administered the oath of office to the newly appointed CEM.
