Aizawl, Sept. 6 -- A Mizoram government parking project has come under the Comptroller and Auditor General's scanner for allegedly favouring a private consultant without following financial rules, while Rs 8.06 crore spent on the project remained unproductive for years.
The CAG said the Urban Development and Poverty Alleviation Department extended "undue favour" to JMT Architects, the winner of an architectural design competition, by subsequently awarding it a Rs 45 lakh consultancy contract and, without inviting tenders, an Rs 8.95 crore work order for installing a robotic parking system.
