Aizawl, June 26 -- The Mizoram unit of BJP today observed "Samvidhan Hatya Diwas" to commemorate what it described as the 51st anniversary of the "dark chapter" of the Emergency imposed in India in 1975, with party leaders criticising the Congress and highlighting the impact of the Emergency on Indian democracy.

The programme was conducted under the leadership of State General Secretary Lalfakzuala Hauzel, while former State Secretary Dr. Zonuntluanga delivered a speech on the Emergency.
