Aizawl, Nov. 21 -- The Zo Re-Unification Organisation (ZORO) on Friday reaffirmed its resolute opposition to the proposed Indo-Myanmar border fencing, declaring that it would continue to resist the project "with the highest seriousness."Addressing reporters in Aizawl, the organisation said the plan contradicts its foundational goal of safeguarding the unity of all Zo-inhabited regions and described the fence as a "Daidanna bang" - a wall that divides a single people.
ZORO leaders said the organisation has studied the implications of the project in detail and concluded that the fencing would inflict profound social and cultural harm on the Zo community, whose members have long lived on both sides of the border.
