Srinagar, April 13 -- Authorities on Monday suspended a senior lecturer following allegations of serious misconduct involving girl students in north Kashmir's Sopore sub-district.

J&K Police have also registered a case against the lecturer, who is posted at the Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Sopore.

According to an official order issued by the Directorate of School Education Kashmir, the Urdu lecturer has been placed under suspension with immediate effect pending an inquiry into his conduct.

The order further states that the accused has been attached to BHSS Badugam, Gurez in Bandipora district, while the Joint Director (North) has been appointed as the inquiry officer to conduct a probe and submit a report within 15 days.
