Agartala, Aug. 26 -- In an unusual judgment, a Special Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Court in North Tripura yesterday sentenced a youth to life imprisonment for raping a minor girl along with the victim's mother and elder sister for suppressing the crime and intimidating the survivor.

The judgement said the accused, Samir Naha, a goldsmith who lived with the victim's family during COVID lockdown, had repeatedly raped the minor in 2021. Investigations revealed that the victim was threatened with death if she spoke out.
