Srinagar, May 24 -- A 12-year-old girl was found dead under mysterious circumstances in central Kashmir's Budgam district on Sunday, prompting police to constitute a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the case.
According to police, information regarding the disappearance of the minor girl was received at Police Station Budgam at around 10 pm on Saturday after she reportedly went missing from her residence during the evening hours.
Following the complaint, police registered an FIR under relevant sections of law and launched a search operation.
