Pune, April 3 -- Maharashtra Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil has directed officials to ensure the availability of new piped gas connections to citizens in the light of a perceived shortage of LPG cylinders due to the ongoing West Asia conclict.

Patil held a meeting on Friday with officials of Maharashtra Natural Gas Limited to review the situation and discuss the increasing demand for natural gas. He assessed the supply situation of PNG across Pune city, including the Kothrud assembly constituency which he represents.
