Mumbai, Aug. 23 -- Maharashtra Cultural Affairs Minister and Mumbai Suburban Guardian Minister Adv Ashish Shelar on Sunday directed the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) to inspect all Ganesh idol arrival routes in the city within 24 hours and carry out immediate repairs and safety measures.
The direction comes in the wake of the accident during the arrival ceremony of Bhuleshwarcha Raja Ganesh Mandal.
Shelar, who visited Chandanwadi Crematorium to pay last respects to mandal president Sanket Nevase and Brijesh Joshi who died in the incident, also met the bereaved families and injured workers. Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha was present.
