Kolhapur, Oct. 11 -- Maharashtra and District Guardian Minister Prakash Abitkar today directed the officials of Revenue and Forest departments to jointly find a solution to forest rights claims issue and implement a 'zero pendency' campaign regarding these claims.
Presiding over a review meeting organized to discuss forest rights issue at the district collector's office here, he said that many claims related to the Forest department are pending at the gram sabha and sub-divisional levels.
Due to these pending claims, people are deprived of their rightful land, he pointed.
