Shimla, July 5 -- Amid escalating tension between NHAI and Himachal Pradesh Government, a fresh FIR filed by the State Forest Department has reignited concerns over unregulated highway construction in the hill state, with the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) once again under scrutiny for alleged environmental violations.

The complaint, submitted by Range Forest Officer Ajeet Kumar, accuses NHAI of negligent hill cutting that triggered a massive landslide on June 30 near Chamiyana in Shimla district, damaging government forest land and a private building.
