Mumbai, Aug. 5 -- The Mumbai Housing and Area Development Board will conduct a computerised lottery on Aug 6 for the sale of 2,640 housing units under various schemes, officials said on Wednesday .

The lottery will be held at Rang Sharda Auditorium in Bandra (West). Minister of State for Housing Dr. Pankaj Bhoyar will draw the lots in the presence of Skill Development Minister Shri Mangal Prabhat Lodha and IT and Cultural Affairs Minister Shri Ashish Shelar, who will chair the event.

MHADA received 75,127 applications for the 2,640 units, averaging 28.54 applications per unit. Officials attributed the overwhelming response to reduced prices, free parking, and prime locations.
