Bengaluru, Aug. 26 -- The proposed integration of a Metro Rail or Mono Rail corridor along the NICE Peripheral Ring Road could provide Bengaluru with a major boost to urban connectivity while addressing the city's growing traffic congestion and rapid peripheral expansion.
The 41-km NICE Peripheral Ring Road, stretching from Tumakuru Road in the north to Hosur Road in the south, was conceived as more than a high-speed road corridor, with provisions to accommodate future mass rapid transit infrastructure.
NICE Managing Director Ashok Kheny said the road had been designed with adequate space for Metro stations and multimodal facilities.
