Chennai, March 8 -- The IMD on Sunday forecast hot and humid conditions in the coming days as the mercury levelexpected to shoot up by a couple of degrees, as people in several districts of Tamil Nadu and in Chennai city and neighbouringdistricts, are bracing up for intense summer season.
There has been a spike in temperature with five districts viz., Vellore, Madurai, Trichy, Karur Paramathi and Vellore recording above 100 Deg F mark during the last 24 hrs ending at 0830 hrs this morning as dry weather prevailed over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal area.
An upper air cyclonic circulation lies over Gulf of Mannar and neighbourhood at 0.9 km above mean sea level.
