Srinagar, Aug. 20 -- Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and PDP president Mehbooba Mufti on Thursday questioned the manner in which foreign dignitaries visit the union Territory, saying such tours have become "curated" after 2019 and no longer involve interactions with people from different sections of society.
Her remarks came a day after US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor's first visit to Jammu and Kashmir, during which he described J&K as an "important part of India" and said the US would reconsider its travel advisory for the region.
Mehbooba said that before 2019, foreign ambassadors visiting J&K would meet representatives from tourism, trade and other sections before forming their views on the situation.
