Shillong, Sept. 6 -- In a step towards positioning Meghalaya as a contributor to the global workforce, the government of Meghalaya, through the Meghalaya State Skill Development Society (MSSDS), signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Asean One Co. Ltd., Japan, in Tokyo.
The agreement is an outcome of Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma's official visit to Japan in April this year, during which he laid out a vision for equipping Meghalaya's youth with skills tailored for international careers.
Sangma had emphasized the need for expanding Meghalaya's engagement with advanced economies such as Japan, which faces a growing demand for skilled professionals in healthcare, caregiving, hospitality, IT, and other service sectors.
