Shillong, July 6 -- The Meghalaya government has completed renovation works in 1,391 of the 1,607 Government Lower Primary (LP) schools taken up under Mission Education, its flagship school infrastructure programme, with work on the remaining 216 schools currently underway, an official said on Monday.

More than 86 per cent of the identified LP schools have already been renovated, while the remaining schools are being upgraded in phases, the official said.

Mission Education is being implemented across all districts and covers Government lower primary, Upper Primary (UP), Secondary and Higher Secondary Schools.
