Shillong, Oct. 12 -- Preparations are afoot for the final electoral roll in Meghalaya, scheduled for publication on October, 26, as per the revised schedule approved by the Election Commission of India (ECI).
"Every effort will be made to complete the remaining statutory processes and ensure the preparation of an accurate, inclusive and transparent electoral roll," State Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Dr Brahma Deo Ram Tiwari, said.
He said a special drive for enrolment of left-out, first-time and young electors is proposed after the final publication.
