Shillong, Sept. 1 -- The state government cannot interfere and take over the shares and royalties of Autonomous District Councils (ADCs), said BJP Meghalaya unit Vice-President Bernard N. Marak today.
Marak said that the State Finance Commission (SFC), notified in 2012, was never constituted by the state government, terming it a violation of Paragraph 7.7 of the Garo Accord.
The Garo Accord was signed by the state and central governments with two rebel groups - A'chik National Volunteers' Council and the breakaway faction of the ANVC, officially known as ANVC-B led by Bernard Marak - on September 24, 2014.
