Shillong, March 26 -- Meghalaya Governor C.H. Vijayashankar on Wednesday distributed financial assistance under his Discretionary Grant to various institutions and organisations at Lok Bhavan.
An official said a total amount of Rs. 99 lakh and 70 thousand was disbursed to 23 beneficiaries belonging to various sections of the society.
Speaking at the function, the Governor emphasised the importance of such support in strengthening grassroots institutions and promoting inclusive development.
Vijayashankar expressed confidence that the assistance would contribute meaningfully towards educational advancement, cultural preservation, and community welfare in Meghalaya.
