Shillong, Aug. 19 -- Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Wednesday laid the foundation stone for the Rs 65 crore State Veterinary Hospital at Upper Shillong.

Addressing the gathering, Sangma stressed the need for the Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Department to adopt a comprehensive approach beyond individual schemes.

"Our goal is to improve animal health, support farmers, promote entrepreneurship and bridge the demand-supply gap through systematic efforts," the Chief Minister said.
