Shillong, June 11 -- Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma has condemned the killing of six Naga men in Manipur, asserting that there can be no justification for the taking of innocent lives.
"I strongly and unequivocally condemn the brutal killing of six Naga civilians. This senseless act of violence is deeply disturbing and wholly unacceptable," Sangma said in a statement.
Manipur Police and central armed forces on Wednesday recovered six mutilated bodies believed to be those of the Naga men abducted by an armed group on May 13, 2026The bodies were recovered from a forested hilly area between Leilon Vaiphei and Kharam Vaiphei under Kangpokpi district.
