Shillong, July 28 -- Meghalaya has achieved 99.62 per cent coverage in the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the 2026 electoral rolls, with the house-to-house enumeration exercise entering its penultimate day, Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Brahma Deo Ram Tiwari said on Tuesday.
A total of 23,40,764 enumeration forms have been distributed out of the state's total electorate of 23,49,645, while 1,49,656 electors, constituting 6.37 per cent of the overall voters, have been identified under the Absent, Shifted, Death and Duplicate (ASDD) categories, he said.
Providing a breakdown of the ASDD categories, Tiwari said that 28,826 electors were identified as absent, 37,914 as shifted, 74,851 as deceased, and 5,899 as duplicate entries, ...
