Shillong, April 29 -- Raj Singh Kushwaha, the co-accused in the murder of Indore businessman Raja Raghuvanshi, moved the court here in Meghalaya for bail today, citing similar procedural lapses during their arrests that led to prime accused Sonam Raghuvanshi being granted bail.

The Court of Additional Deputy Commissioner (Judicial), East Khasi Hills, Shillong, Dashalene R. Kharbteng, having heard the arguments, reserved its order on the bail plea.

"Sonam was granted bail yesterday. So, we took the same plea - the arrest was not proper and it was not as mandated for the arrest procedure. We have sought bail on parity from the court, so we will have to wait for the order now," Kushwaha's legal counsel Phuyosa Yobin said.
