Ashok RainaKangra, Aug. 21 -- Leaving a banking career to return to his village and pursue entrepreneurship, mechanical engineer Pranav Dhar of Samloti in Kangra district has carved out a promising success story through mushroom cultivation with support from the Himachal Pradesh Horticulture Department.
Dhar, who had worked as a Probationary Officer in a bank after completing mechanical engineering in Delhi, established a modern mushroom production unit under the Integrated Horticulture Development Mission during 2026-27.
The project, costing around Rs 60-70 lakh, received financial assistance of Rs 15 lakh from the department.
