Dhaka, March 31 -- A measles outbreak in Bangladesh is raising public health concerns due to a surge in infections among children, along with numerous reported deaths in recent weeks, media reports said on Tuesday.

Measles cases are spreading in Dhaka, Rajshahi, Chittagong, Khulna, and other districts, the Dhaka Tribune reported.

According to reports, the World Health Organization (WHO) describes measles as a highly contagious viral disease that spreads through coughing, sneezing or close contact with infected individuals. It can lead to severe complications and even death, particularly among children.
