Malegaon (Nashik), March 10 -- Health authorities in Malegaon have issued an alert after several measles cases were detected in the city following laboratory testing of suspected patients.
Officials said suspected cases were reported from localities including Naya Islampura, Hinglaj Nagar and Hazar Kholi. Samples of six suspected patients were sent for laboratory testing, of which four were confirmed positive for measles.
Following the confirmation, the Malegaon Municipal Corporation intensified surveillance and launched a special screening drive in different parts of the city. Health teams are visiting schools and anganwadi centres to examine children for symptoms of the disease.
