Bhubaneswar, April 16 -- Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) has clarified that reports attributing a recent "subsidence" incident near the Dera Colliery to underground mining are factually incorrect and misleading. According to MCL sources, a small cavity measuring approximately one foot in diameter and depth was noticed on the Handidhua-Dera road on Wednesday morning.
The company responded swiftly, prioritising public safety and addressing community concerns by initiating immediate remedial measures in coordination with local authorities.
