New Delhi, Oct. 28 -- The Delhi Election Commission today announced November 30 as the day for the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) by-elections.

The by-polls are being held to fill vacancies of town representatives that opened up in the civic body after 13 Municipal Councillors belonging to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) resigned from their party in May this year, citing stalled development work and growing internal discontent.

The polling will be conducted in a single phase, commencing at 10:30 am and continuing until 5:30 pm without any breaks, as noted by the state election commission in an order.
