Lucknow, Oct. 6 -- Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati on Tuesday criticised media reports about the return of her nephew Akash Anand to the party, saying facts surrounding his reinstatement had been exaggerated.
On Tuesday, Mayawati presented a seven-point statement on the social media platform 'X', stating that Akash Anand has been reinstated and reassigned to the party's duties.
She said several media reports had claimed that Anand had been expelled from the BSP four times and had now been reinstated and reappointed as national convener. Mayawati said that account did not accurately reflect the sequence of events.
Anand had played an active role in the party before his marriage and was not expelled during that period, she said.
