Lucknow, Aug. 7 -- Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) national president Mayawati has expressed deep concern over the acquittal of most of the accused by a local court in the Una Dalit atrocity case in Gujarat and urged the Gujarat government to effectively pursue the High Court to ensure the culprits receive severe punishment.
In a statement released on X on Friday, Mayawati said that the aggrieved Dalit families are facing severe financial and other difficulties in challenging the acquittal in the High Court by a local court in March 2016 in the case of heinous atrocities against Dalits in Una, Gir Somnath district, Gujarat.
