Lucknow, March 14 -- Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati on Saturday launched a sharp attack on the Indian National Congress, accusing it of historically disrespecting Dalit leaders while now seeking political mileage in their names.
In a series of posts on the social media platform X , Mayawati described the Congress as a "symbol of Dalit insult," alleging that the party had failed to honour the architect of the Indian Constitution, BR Ambedkar, during its long tenure in power.
She noted that despite ruling the country for decades, the Congress government never conferred the country's highest civilian honour, the Bharat Ratna, on Ambedkar. She questioned how the party could now claim to respect BSP founder Kanshi Ram.
