Kolkata, Nov. 27 -- Amid rising apprehension over the scale of possible deletions during West Bengal's ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, the state CEO's office has confirmed that identities of nearly 26 lakh voters remain "untraceable" during the matching process so far.
A senior official told UNI that details of six crore voters have been matched till date, of which around 26 lakhs could not be verified through the digital database. "The number is likely to rise as the matching of submitted enumeration forms progresses," the official said, requesting anonymity.
