Bhubaneswar, Feb. 26 -- In one of the biggest anti-narcotics operations in the region, the Odisha Police achieved a major breakthrough with the seizure of hashish oil worth Rs 225 crore and ganja valued at Rs 5 crore in Koraput district.

According to police headquarters sources, a large quantity of contraband was recovered during a raid on a temporary manufacturing unit operating in the Jholaput forest area under Padua Police Station, near the Odisha-Andhra Pradesh border.

More than 180 litres of hashish oil, extracted from cannabis, were seized. The estimated market value of the confiscated oil stands at approximately Rs.225 crore.
