Dhule, July 16 -- A massive fire broke out in a diesel tanker near Ner village on the Surat-Nagpur highway early Thursday. The sudden blaze brought highway traffic to a halt.
On receiving news of the incident, personnel from the Dhule Municipal Fire Department worked hard to extinguish the fire. The tanker was completely gutted and reduced to ashes.
The tanker, carrying approximately 35,000 litres of diesel and en route from Jamnagar (Gujarat) to Kakinada (Andhra Pradesh), caught fire near the Manjushree Petrol Pump in Ner village at around 4.30 pm. Realizing that the vehicle was on fire, the driver jumped out as a precautionary measure, thereby saving his life.
